"It's a String Thing" #260 - A Very Happy 5th Birthday!

It's Tuesday, your good news day!

It's also the 5th Birthday of IAST - congratulations one and all!  I love birthdays, don't you?
As Baafke (The Netherlands) noted yesterday, this is our first lustrum, a new word added to my vocabulary.  Thank you, Baafke.

It is truly incredible to imagine that we've met here every week for five years to tangle, explore, learn, inspire, and be inspired.  We've added  new names to our Tangled Map most every week and now feature tanglers from thirty-six countries around the world.

In the coming week, I plan to look back over the previous birthday posts and if you would like to do the same, here are the links ~

IAST 1st Birthday  and 1st Birthday Tiles
IAST 2nd Birthday and 2nd Birthday Tiles
IAST 3rd Birthday and 3rd Birthday Tiles
IAST 4th Birthday and 4th Birthday Tiles

In keeping with our celebratory tradition, this is our 5th Birthday string ~

IAST #260 5th Birthday String by Adele Bruno, CZT

And here are the directions for drawing the string in a continuous line ~

And just for fun, let's use one tangle from each of our previous IAST birthdays.

From our 1st birthday,
Kitl by Ragged Ray
This is a fun, loopy tangle and its creator is a good friend of IAST :)

From our 2nd birthday,
Prestwood by CZT Margaret Bremner
Trudi Taylor (Canada) pointed out in her note yesterday that a fifth anniversary calls for something wooden.
Margaret's tangle is just what we need.

From our 3rd birthday,
O my tangle
I am partial to this tangle, and think you may like it too.

From our 4th birthday,
Knightsbridge - by Maria Thomas
This will lend some boldness and contrast to our tiles.
My Tips for Tangling Knightsbridge can be found here.

Keep in mind that strings are merely suggestions. As with all IAST adventures, simply pencil in the string and let the tangles lead the way.
