"It's a String Thing" #265

Please note:  If you missed the fabulous tiles for IAST#263 and/or IAST#264, click on their numbers to view.

It's Tuesday, your good news day!

It is also time for our annual nod to that deliciously sweet, marshmallow-y fall treat:  Candy Corn.
It is affectionately know here as Cannie Corns, so dubbed by my children in their toddler days.

In my new eBook, written with the fabulous Dorian Eng, I found that the Zentangle® 3z tiles were easy to adapt to Cannie Corns ~

Spooktacular Cannie Corn House by Adele Bruno, CZT

Full instructions for assembly and tangling can be found in
our new "Spooktacular Houses", a "Tiny Tangled Houses" eBook
(Order information can be found by clicking the book image to the right.)

There is something to the combination of colors, the shape, and certainly the taste, that has me hooked.

Over the last six Octobers since we've celebrated this particular challenge, I have noticed that the rest of the retail world is catching up with us.
More and more fall food, decorations, and fashions, feature images - and tastes - of candy corn.  This year has to be record setting.

Here are a few of my finds:
Candy...

Marshmallows...

Chocolates...

and cookies...

Beads for jewelry making...

a lamp complete with cord and light bulb...

Decorations on wreaths...

and can you guess what these are?

SOCKS!

One of my favorites finds was the design on the shirts I bought for my granddaughters ~

Let's join in the party and tangle our own tributes to this sweet treat.  We begin with this string ~

IAST String #265 by Adele Bruno, CZT

The tangles we will use include three by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas:

Bales
Msst
Printemps

Click here to view these and all of  Rick and Maria's tangles and links from around the web for step outs and instructions on TangleList.com.

Keep in mind that while the string lines resemble candy corn, your end result does not necessarily have to look like any one thing in particular.
On the other hand, Zentangle® Inspired Art can be representational, so please feel free to follow your inclination.
Simply pencil the string line onto your tile and tangle away!

Here are the (Not so) Official Guidelines:
* Challenges are posted on Tuesdays.
*Use the string posted for the week and some or all of the suggested patterns
* Submit a photo of your tile saved as jpg or scan your tile (300 dpi or higher) and save as a jpg

    1. Your note made me smile. There are only sweet treats associated with 'Cannie Corns'. Even though it is one of my favorites, I cannot buy Candy Corn very often because I eat it all :)
