We celebrated the beginning of spring and a beautifully full moon with our tangles last week.
The creative combinations of tangles are sure to make you smile whether you are in the midst of spring or still waiting for it.Grab a cup of tea and enjoy the show ~

Sunny spring greetings from Germany
*beautiful, organic tangles
*festive colors
From Amy L, CZT (Connecticut) ~
I did this in the first day of spring, which was still pretty darn cold here in Connecticut! I found Jasmin challenging, although your tip for tangling helped. I kept trying to go the wrong direction! However, once I started it, I kept adding more and more until it filled my background. So here is my jasmin/crescent moon tangle, such as it is. Happy spring everyone! Here’s to warmer weather soon, I hope!Tangled Tidbits -
*layers of Crescent Moon
*touch of shading adds depth to Jasmin
From Moblue (Bremen, Germany) ~
Spring finally has arrived at Bremen!!!Tangled Tidbits -
Temperatures are turning to a more moderate level and everywhere the green is bursting into the light.
So your string came just right to celebrate Nature. Mumsy is such a lovely and versatile pattern and this time Crescent Moon seems to have turned out almost neat.
Thank you once again for your nice suggestions and the Tangling Tips for Jasmin. They made it easy to draw the pattern. Since I discovered color for my tiles, I gave Mumsy a brilliant shiny yellow, which unfortunately is not transferred on the scan. I'm now eager to see the other contributions.
Thank you Adele for your work and support for our community and lots of fun with spring.
*Mumsy petals float along the string line and burst into Crescent Moon
*sparkle and aura abound
From Lisette, CZT 32 (Switzerland) ~
I somehow couldn't fit in Jasmin in a grid and drew it in free form. Now, my tile reminds me of the planet of the Little Prince... You can only see with your heart...Tangled Tidbits -
Thank you for this beautiful challenge, Adele.
*Jasmin free of its grid
*fancy Crescent Moon variation

Spring is here (hopefully...) Looking forward to opening the windows and hearing the birds chirp! Here is my tile for IAST284 - was feeling a bit minimalistic on this one.Tangled Tidbits -
Hope your weather is sunny and bright!

*cone like aura for Crescent Moon
From Gale Sherman, CZT (Tucson, Arizona) ~
Hello Adele and Tangling friends! During these past two months I’ve been busy with travel, photography, teaching and “life’s stuff,” leaving me no personal time for my tangling. This spring challenge is perfect forgetting me going again. My #mumsy are growing out of control just like my yard. I left their star center white to keep #crescent moon company in the sky. My stained glass #jasmin (done in gray Graphik pens) is in the simple style of Frank Lloyd Wright, but with a nod to #crescent moon. Happy Spring to all!Tangled Tidbits -
*wonderful imagery - happy spring!
*starburst Mumsy
From Jody Genovese, CZT (New York) ~
It feels like I have been gone for a year! I hope you are well and ready for Spring. We sure are.
Attached is my tile for this week. My apologies for my misstep on Jasmin. By the time I realized I wasn’t doing it right it was too late to turn back.
In the spirit of ‘No Mistakes’ I forged on and gave it a new spin. In that light did I mean to add that splash of tipple??....
Thank you as always.

Welcome back - glad you are thawing :)

A very warm welcome to Susan Morris (Hampshire, United Kingdom) ~
I am very new to Zentangle and have been trying out your strings and tangles but so far not sent any one. This time I have decided to jump in and join in! Crescent Moon was one of the first tangles I learnt at a workshop, so enjoyed using it. I found the other two quite challenging, couldn’t seem to get the curves quite right, but I’m sure they will get easier with practice.Tangled Tidbits -
*lovely aura and shading of Crescent Moon
*large grid for Jasmin
Welcome to our IAST community and welcome to our Tangled Map, Susan! So happy that you joined in.
From Lin H., CZT (Florida) ~
Spring has sprung in my neck of the woods and I’m surprised I didn’t add color to my tile to reflect all the colors in the gardens around me. But, black and white it is! Happy Spring to you, Adele, and everyone else, too.Tangled Tidbits -

From Sue Agnew (Tucson, Arizona) ~
Thanks for another fun challenge!Tangled Tidbits -
I have trouble with Mumsy after the first row of petals because I can’t quite decide where to put them or how big to make them. Sometimes I “stack” Crescent Moons (a second row behind the first row) which is copying from something I saw Maria do years ago … so I decided to try doing Mumsy using Crescent Moon. I’m sure you would have guessed I would have to try using sparkle in Jasmin. And at the last minute I added one Zinger to mimic the cute little flip on the end of your string.
Thank you for all that you do!
*great idea to morph Crescent Moon and Mumsy
*sparkled (of course!) Jasmin

This week’s challenge made me think of spring and the colourful flowers we will, I hope, start to see soon.Tangled Tidbits -
Of the patterns, you chose for us, the only one I’d never drawn before is Jasmin. Thankfully, even though it seems complicated, after practicing it in my pattern sketchbook I got into a nice rhythm as I drew it on my tile. The addition of Crescent Moon and Mumsy made finishing this tile flow smoothly.
I’ll definitely use this combination of patterns again on my own in the future.
*fabulous mix of color and tangles
*Mumsy petals diminish in size
From Gabi (Germany) ~
Sure to be the last one for this IAST.... but spent a lot of time outside and enjoying the beautiful weather and spring’s awakening!Tangled Tidbits -

Hello from the north. Thank you again Adele for an interesting challenge. Crescent Moon was the only tangle that I was familiar with so really enjoyed learning the other two. Felt it needed a little color as I’m waiting for our white world to start getting some color.Tangled Tidbits -
