A Tribute to Juul

The IAST community joins us together from all parts of the world and has become a very special place for me and I trust for you as well.

As writer of this blog, it is a precious thing to be on the receiving end of so many heartfelt emails, inspired tiles, and invitations to share lives.

Friendships blossom through a mutual "love of all things tangled".  Zentangle proves itself to be a universal language.  It transcends culture, language, faith, distance, and even time itself.  It draws (pun intended) out the best in those who practice it.

My previous post featured a tile from my dear friend Juul and a request to pray for her.  I thank you all for your prayers.  I trust in God's providence and protection, too, as He now has gently welcomed her home.

It is a curious thing, a remarkable thing, a humbling thing, that we were united worlds apart by an art method.  But truly it was much more than that.  It was an appreciation of life, of family, of creativity, of giving, of gratitude, of love itself, that united us.

May she, and all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

  1. Such careful and heartfelt words Adele, I have little to add.

Other than reflecting on how precious that last tile Juul sent to you is. I look back at it, reflect on it, knowing that she tangled that and sent it to you, to us, with so little time left to her. And imagining, perhaps, the comfort that gave her, the comfort it offers us.

  3. Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love's sake. Amen.
