"It's a String Thing" #234

It's Tuesday, your good news day!

The results of our IAST #233 tribute to Pi will be posted tomorrow, March 14.  It was just too fitting to pass up.

For today, and since this time of year brings out a wee bit o' Irish in us all, let's begin with a string that celebrates St. Patrick (another of our IAST traditions!) ~
IAST #234 St. Patrick's Day String by Adele Bruno, CZT
The tangles we will use include ~

Lucky by me, Adele Bruno, CZT

Lukiline by Mary Masi, CZT
This tangle is just plain fun.
(As an alternative to Mary's step out, I draw a vine first, add the little X's to the vine, and then four heart shapes to create a clover in each X.)

Cruze by Caren Mlot, CZT
This tangle reminds me of a Celtic knot even though its origins are not related.
The step out unfolds in a very unique way.

Use one, two, or all three of the tangles - the choice is up to you.  Pencil in the string and let the tangles lead the way.

Click the names of the tangles find the step outs. All tangles can be found on TanglePatterns as well.

Enjoy!

  1. Oo I've been waiting all week for this! Now I'll spend the day wondering how the heck I'm going to put those tangles on that open ended string. It's all good fun! Thanks Adele.
