This week we will be focusing on just one tangle - Cross-Ur-Heart a new one by IAST contributor Jenna Black. (Link to her website)
Jenna first joined our community for IAST #134. When she sent in her tile for the following challenge, she described it as "a mishmosh of my own devising."
That description stayed with me as I think it describes tangles and tiles as we develop our own style.
So for this challenge, we will create a monotagle with Jenna's beautiful Cross-Ur-Heart.
Even if hearts aren't your favorite shape, I am confident that you will enjoy learning this tangle.
The step outs are simple, the pattern unfolds beautifully, and the details provide a very rhythmic, relaxing time tangling.
Here is a suggestion for a string:
IAST #207 String by Adele Bruno, CZT |
Since this is a monotangle and strings are merely suggestions, feel free to take creative license (as always) and tangle away as your pen leads.
The possibilities are limitless - layer multiple Cross-Ur-Hearts, add any number of embellishments - perfs, sparkle, shading, aura, etc.
Here are the (Not so) Official Guidelines:
