Wednesday's Words of Wisdom

ZIA Zendala, a treasured gift from my fellow knuckleballer Tracey Lyon, CZT

Today's words of wisdom, so beautifully illustrated by Tracey Lyons, CZT, are a collection of thoughts from the author and artist Austn Kleon.

In his brilliant book, Show Your Work! , Austin describes knuckleballers as...
"Your real peers - the people who share your obsessions, the people who share a similar mission to your own, the people with whom you share a mutual respect."

He goes on to say that these people are few in life but "so, so important."

He charges the reader to:
"do what you can to nurture your relationships with these people, sing their praises...invite them to collaborate...show them your work before you show anyone else...share your secrets...keep them as close as you can."

Zentangle® has afforded me opportunities to meet fellow artists that I consider my knuckleballers.
I am eternally grateful and I love them to pieces.

If you have people in your life that you consider fellow knuckleballers,
tell them,
thank them,
treasure them.

  3. This was a wonderful post. I am fortunate to have some knuckleballers in my life that are close, and some that are far. You are one of mine too, as you inspire me!

    1. Yes, you are so right that proximity is not a factor. Cheers to you and your inspiring work, too!
