Trick or Treat! Our New eBook is Here!

Dorian Eng and I have just released the latest eBook in our "Tiny Tangled Houses" series - "Spooktacular Houses".

I know, I know...I usually provide much more fanfare and warm up to the big day, but this one slipped in like a goblin in the night.  A good goblin, mind you!
We have worked feverishly on it while juggling our happy, crazy lives and are now so pleased to present it.

Here is the front cover ~

Dorian devised yet another ingenious house design, this time using Zentangle®ATC and 3Z tiles.  Coupled with my tangled illustrations, these little gems are spooktacularly fun to create.

Houses can be themed or simply tangled.  The back cover features Dorian's tangled houses using (among other supplies) Sakura Moonlight Gelly Roll® pens that glow under a black light ~

In between the covers of the book are step-by-step instructions, multiple house ideas for inspiration, "Tips for Tangling", tangle step outs, and a few more surprises.

To order your copy, click here.

Please let us know how you enjoy the book and do send in pictures of your Spooktacular house(s) for posting.

Thank you in advance for supporting us in our latest creative endeavor.

Just Days Away...

Ready for some exciting news?!

The newest eBook in "Tiny Tangled House" series will be available in just two days,
Sunday, April 22.

CZT Dorian Eng and I have teamed up to create "Fairy Garden Houses" - a book we truly hope that you will find as charming, whimsical, and inventive as we do.

We have been working on the final edits, tying to contain our excitement, but it is overflowing so I just had to show you a bit of it. 💗

Here is a little sneak peek at the cover ~

I am very partial, but isn't it so dear?!  Inside we have included templates, instructions, step outs, examples - everything you need to create these tiny treasures (and more!) using traditional tiles or the paper of your choice.

I will post more information Sunday, April 22nd.  Until then, have a happy weekend!

Wednesday's Words of Wisdom

“If you would be loved,
love, and be lovable.”

                                                                                      ~Benjamin Franklin

The photographs to accompany today's quote were sent in by Mariam G (California).
Inspired by "Love Shackz", written by CZT Dorian Eng and myself, Mariam created these two Tiny Tangled Houses ~
Love Shackz by Mariam G
One was a gift for her husband and the other was a gift for her parents.  Mariam included special details on each house that were meaningful to her loved ones.

Two More Tiny Houses

Here are two more Tiny Tangled Houses to spread the
New Year's joy ~

The first is a beautifully detailed one from
Lisette in Switzerland.

She included delicious pretzel decorations, peppermint, garland, and a tree that wraps around two sides of the house.

Lisette cut out the window panes and then put
a battery operated light inside to make the house glow.

It looks so cozy and inviting.

The second beautiful house was sent in by
Marty Greiner from Virginia.

Marty even added a tree using CZT Dorian Eng's bell instructions.
(Click here for the link to those.)

Not only is the house decorated uniquely on each side, the tree is as well.

In her note, Marty said,
I thought it was a most excellent Christmas craft. I spent several pleasurable hours planning and drawing my house. The shading really made it pop. My family really love it. Thanks to you and Dorian for the great instructions.

There are curtains in the windows!

Many thanks to Lisette and Marty for permission to post their Tiny Houses.  It almost makes me wish for Christmas all year long - almost!

Dorian and I are working on some project ideas for St. Valentine's and St. Patrick Day, so if you missed the opportunity to tangle your own Tiny House in December, stay tuned!

Christmas Continues...

Since we are still celebrating the Twelve Days of Christmas, over the next four days I will post a few of my holiday projects.
(It's never too early to start getting ready for the next Christmas season, right?!)

To thank my friend Dorian Eng, CZT, for her indispensable role in getting our first eBook published, I created this Tiny House scene ~

Tiny Tangled House scene by Adele Bruno, CZT

This domed cake stand (purchased at a local store) was the perfect size for a Bijou tile house and two trees.  The trees are actually three folded Bijou tiles inspired by Dorian's latest instructional video for Sakura (Click here for the link).

After creating the house and trees, I added some "snow" and then arranged and rearranged the pieces...

...until they sat like this together~

To finish it off, I added a battery operated tea light that gave the house a warm glow.

We say in our book that there are no limits to the possibilities these little houses inspire.
I hope you enjoyed this one!

Wednesday's Word of Wisdom

The ornament of a house are the friends who frequent it.

Holiday House #3

To spread some Christmas cheer, here is my third house for the holidays.

I combined one square and one 3z Renaissance tile and used red, green, brown, and black Micron 01 pens, a white Gelly Roll 10, a touch of shading, and white chalk pencil highlights.

"Oh what fun!", as the merry song goes...

Peppermint, Meriberries, Printemps, Florz, Shing

Holiday House #2 of 5

Here is the second gingerbread inspired house in my five part series ~

Candy Post House by Adele Bruno, CZT

Tangles:  Twisted Rope, Printemps, N'zeppel, Diva Dance,
Flux, Cayke, Beadline, Florz, Gneiss,
Antidots, Festune, Cack
This was actually the first house that I tangled with a gingerbread house in mind.  I wanted to keep the colors limited to the red and green of Christmas and add enough brown to add to the gingerbread feel.

I found that Diva Dance is wonderful to use as the trunk of a tree.  The top of the tree can take any shape and any number of tangles can be used to fill it in - in this case I simply tangled Printemps with a perf the middle of each one.

This house was also the spring board for my new eBook written with CZT Dorian Eng.  Click the photo in the top right column for more information.

Have fun creating your own!

Enjoy!

Happy Halloween Haunted Houses

I couldn't let this festive week come to an end without a little 'show and tell' from my class last Saturday.

We began with black square and 3z tiles and tangled with the new Sakura Gelly Roll 10 pens.
This was my example tile ~

Isn't it adorable?

These were great fun.  We also began creating Christmas houses and I will start posting those after Thanksgiving.

Stay tuned!
