"It's a String Thing" #298

It's Tuesday, your good news day!

In yesterday's post, Sue Agnew mentioned how much fun she had with Maria Thomas' new tangle Doodah.  Sure that Sue is a good judge of tangling fun, let's get to know it this week.

Maria introduced Doodah last fall at the CZT reunion, zenAgain, that I had the pleasure of attending.

Since then, I have seen her tangle's inspiration myself on older, ornate frame work and in beautiful arches in ancient churches.

Let's play with Doodah on this string ~

IAST String #298 by Adele Bruno, CZT

The two tangles we will use include:

Doodah
Clicking on the tangle name will take you to the Zentangle newsletter.  Doodah is also listed here on TanglePatterns.

Kitl by Ragged Ray
Maria's examples usually include loops when she illustrates Doodah.  Kitl will be our way of introducing loops to our tiles.
The link above will direct you to Ragged Ray's blog.  Scroll down to find the step out for Kitl and for links associated with it.

Simply pencil in the string line and begin.
Keep in mind that the string is a suggestion and let the tangles lead the way.

Here are the (Not so) Official Guidelines:
