My Heartfelt Thank You

IAST Thank You Zendala by Adele Bruno, CZT
The names of 466 IASThingers from around the world who have kindly contributed over the years.

I hope you have as much fun looking for your names as I did writing them in this sea of fellow gifted tanglers.

G.K. Chesterton wrote, "I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought;
and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder."

My heart is filled with gratitude for all of you, for making these six years of IAST possible, for keeping my enthusiasm for "all things tangled" keen, and for building up this positive and encouraging community.

While I intend to blog from time to time, I must take leave of moderating and conducting our weekly challenges.  I am as sad to say this as I was elated to begin IAST in August of 2013 - but just think of the lasting library we have collectively created.

On the pink header above you can find a wealth of quick references to past years' IASTs, so please make use of them if you need a spark to tangle.

I will be present and I welcome your comments and ongoing communication.  You can reach me through the email slot on the right side of this page or at brunoadelem@gmail.com

Looking forward to more tangling together!

  1. I am heartbroken, Adele, that you are discontinuing IAST, but also have so much gratitude for all the challenges you have posted for us. You've never been able to see my tangles, but I have been here with you since about #45, I think.

Whatever your reasons for leaving, I wish you well, I hope you will be healthy and happy!!

  2. Oh no! This is too sudden - I always thought I could volunteer to put this event together for you if you ever got busy (strings and comments would still be yours) but I've gotten busier myself. I'll be sad to see it go but thank you for all that you've done these past six years. I've been around for three of them!

  3. ...and thus Happy Birthdays render into heartfelt condolences. Dear Adele, you did a marvelous job with your IAST challenges and although my heart plummeted to my feet when I read this blog post, I fully understand your decision. Nothing lasts forever, but with your IAST you made us looking forward to every Tuesday and Wednesday for a long time. I already miss you!

  5. What a wonderful Zendala filled with all the tanglers you brought together with your weekly strings.

I'm sad to hear you need to take a break, but know you wouldn't take it lightly. We have plenty of inspiration here at our finger tips to keep us tangling and thinking of you whenever we do.

Take care dear friend. With much love, Jem

  7. Oh how sad my dear Adele, nevertheless understanding considering all the work that is behind the scene.
But also lucky news to hear you will continue blogging, so the band will be still intact.
I hope you can "retire" in a good health state otherwise you will recover quickly and we may hear each other from time to time.

I wish all the best for the future near and far for you and your family and hope all your dreams may come true.

And as some wrote to me some years ago, Friends are like the stars in the sky.
You may not see them, but they are alwasy there.

And maybe, maybe sometime somone else will take over the IAST community (dreams have to be allowed).

Happy tangling from Monika, Moblue, from Bremen, Germany

  9. Adele,
I am saddened by this post.
However, as others have already noted, I suspect that you wouldn't step away from giving so much to so many unless it was absolutely necessary.
Before I started sending my tiles to you I had sporadically followed along with your weekly challenges for a while (I began with challenge 139). I've decided that until you return, and to keep myself motivated to create, I am going to go back to the birth of IAST and complete each challenge from the first one.
Take care of yourself and thank you again for creating this community.
    T.

  11. I totally forgot I could comment right on this post! (I was waiting to email till I had the "perfect" thing to say.) I appreciate you so much, how much of you you've shared with us. AND I appreciate how difficult a weekly challenge blog is, having tried since this post to figure out a way to organize a personal weekly challenge. I think of you often and you are in my prayers.
