Today also marks Queen Elizabeth of England's 89th birthday. Happy Birthday, Your Majesty.
Since it is also IAST #89 - let's celebrate royally :)
We begin with TanglePatterns String 089 by Beth Snoderly ~

We will use a few tangles that bring royalty to mind. They include -
Jeewels by Livia Chua
Jemz by Margaret Bremner, CZT
Knightsbridge by Maria Thomas
My Tips for Tangling Knightsbridge can be found here.
Queen's Crown by Suzanne McNeill, CZT
The link to Suzanne's step out is no longer operable on TanglePattertns, but the tangle is easy enough to recreate based on Linda's rendering.
A similar tangle is pictured in Sandy Bartholomew's Totally Tangled on
page 51, if you happen to have the book. I highly recommend it if you are looking
for a wonderful book on tangling.
This is a border that I drew for a poster I use in my classes. It was inspired by Sandy's work ~
As with all tangles, the possibilities are endless...
Step outs for the patterns can be found by clicking their names above, or by visiting TanglePatterns.
Use as many or as few as you'd like.
Simply pencil the string line onto your tile and tangle away! Keep in mind that string lines are suggestions and let the patterns lead the way.
